1. Initial Cleaning
Remove all securing tapes and then wash the inside of the appliance with lukewarm water and bicarbonate of soda (5 ml to 0.5 litre of water). Do not use soap or detergent as these may leave a lingering smell. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
2. Positioning
Place the refrigerator in a cool, well-ventilated room, away from sources of heat such as radiators, boilers, or direct sunlight. Ensure the back of the appliance is close to the wall, but not touching it, leaving the required distance for ventilation.
3. Electrical Connection
After positioning, leave the appliance for 2 hours before plugging it into the electricity supply to allow the refrigerant to settle.
4. Temperature Setting
The temperature is regulated by a thermostat with 6 positions and an 'OFF' position. Set the thermostat to the intermediate position (3-4) which is usually the most suitable. Adjust according to room temperature, door opening frequency, and food storage volume.
5. Running the Appliance
Upon first starting or after a period of non-use, let the appliance run for at least two hours on the coldest setting before storing any food. Then, adjust the thermostat to the normal operation position.
6. Safety and Maintenance
Keep packaging away from children and do not allow them to play with the controls. Regularly check that the air openings are not obstructed to ensure efficient operation. For prolonged periods of non-use, disconnect from the electricity supply, empty all food, clean the appliance, and leave the doors ajar to prevent unpleasant smells.
